Social Programme

An attractive social programme will be available, as the venue is located in the city center. One may enjoy winter(sports) in the Austrian Alps or explore the Swarowski Crystal World in the nearby city of Wattens.

Further social events will be announced here in time.

Social event for Tuesday afternoon March 10

On Tuesday, March 10, we plan a sledding trip to Oberperfuss close to Innsbruck. Two gondolas will take us uphill where you will have a short introduction on how to handle your sledge. And then you can enjoy a 2.5 km ride downhill (with as many repeats as you want and time permits)! To warm up again we have organized a small get together before the bus will bring you back to Innsbruck.
Note that you will need gloves and preferably waterproof footwear. Ski pants, goggles and helmets are no must but are definitely useful.
The cost of this excursion will be covered by the registration fee.
Minimum attendance: 40 people!
Maximum attendance: 100 people (first come first serve!)
IMPORTANT, the ride is not recommended for people having problems with their back and neck; pregnant women should not participate. The bus will leave from the hotel at 1:00 pm, return at approximately 6:00pm.

Alpine Skiing:

A complimentary shuttlebus service will be available in the afternoons to transfer interested participants to the "Axamer Lizum". Please indicate in the online travel form if you would like to rent skiing gear. Further, electronic half-day ski tickets valid from 1-4 pm at the Axamer Lizum can be purchased in cash (Euros only) on a daily basis at the hotel reception desk.  The discounted rate for participants for a half day ticket is EUR 21,- . Private skiing lessons for beginners are possible - please contact "Ski und Snowboard Schule Innsbruck"!

Ski Rental

The ski rental "Die Börse" located in Innsbruck can be used to rent ski equipment. On March 7^th & 8^th, we provide a free shuttle service to the ski rental shop. The equipment can be stored in the hotel (special room) during the whole course. Please indicate in the travel form if you would like to rent skiing gear.

Swarovski Crystal World:

A daily bus leaves from Innsbruck to the Swarowski Crystal World in Wattens at 12:44 pm and 14:44 pm (30 min. ride). The “Swarovski Crystal World” - package at the rate of EURO 28,50 includes the bus ride and the entrance fee. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk in the Hotel Grauer Bär.
